Wood chip fuel is currently the cheapest form of heat energy on the market. That does not even include subsidies from the Renewable Heat Incentive!

The only significant cost is that of the boiler and installing it but with the RHI, wood chip fuel remains the most affordable form of heat energy.

The cost per tonne for wood chip fuel will vary depending on the quantities and style of delivery which in turn depends on the installation process. This is why it is important when installing a wood chip/pellet boiler that the method of delivery is carefully considered.

The chip prices quoted below are assuming standard size tipped deliveries of 25-30 cubic metres of wood chip
