Midlands Wood Fuel’s core business is to consistently supply high quality wood fuel at a low moisture content. We sell both wood chips and wood pellets and can use separate delivery methods depending on the customers needs.

Wood chips and wood pellets are burnt within fully automated boilers to heat water which may be used to heat homes, schools, offices, care homes, hospitals, leisure centres and industrial processes.

Wood chip is produced locally from low value forestry. It is left to dry for several months before being chipped, stored in a barn and distributed by lorry to the wood boiler. Wood pellets are produced from compressed sawdust, a sawmill by product. Pellet plants are typically powered by biomass to ensure that all energy used in their production is low carbon.

We are the regions only company to operate a wood chip supply infrastructure from a network of depots and using the innovative wood chip tanker system.  This approach reduces haulage distances, and cost, and simplifies on-site wood fuel storage.

Wood Pellets

Wood pellets – compressed sawdust – offer advantages particularly for the domestic user, because the have a higher density than chips, reducing the storage volume required. Depending on the heating systems size and capacity, MWF can deliver pellets tipped, blown or in large and small bags.

Heat Contracts 

For many heat users, Heat Supply Contracts will be the most convenient way to use wood fuel.

Rather than paying for fuel by the load or by weight, a heat meter is connected to the boiler that records its output. This way, the user pays for the heat delivered every month, at an agreed figure per unit of energy. Routine maintenance can also be included within a contract.
