The Renewable Heat Incentive for “non-domestic” use of biomass heating has been operational since 2011 and has been instrumental in making the business case for commercial biomass installations compelling.
We currently supply a wide range of commercial biomass installations such as:
- Stately homes;
- Private schools;
- Residential Care Homes;
- A major Hospital;
- A forestry visitor’s centre;
- A large bottled water producer.
Even an Anglican Benedictine Monastery!
Biomass can be primarily used for space heating and hot water or for processing heat used as part of a commercial process.
The business case for adopting biomass varies for every installation but typical paybacks are from four to six years (often improved when replacing oil or LPG) with additional benefits toward Carbon Reduction Commitment.
As well as cost savings, biomass can give considerable PR benefits and reducing carbon emissions in the supply chain can give you a competitive advantage when presenting to new and existing customers.
