It is 'Carbon Neutral', which means that although burning wood releases the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, the same amount is absorbed by trees from the atmosphere as they grow. Therefore, unlike fossil fuels, it does not contribute to global warming.

Wood Fuel is exempt from the climate change levy.

As well as being a  'green' fuel, wood chip fuel is cost effective. When replacing oil and LPG, savings of 50% or more can be achieved. Wood chip fuel is significantly cheaper than mains gas (traditionally the cheapest fuel available).

WOOD CHIPS

Midlands Wood Fuel delivers quality assured wood chips direct into your boiler system. Timber is stored at our depots to allow it to dry. When it has reached 25-30% moisture content we chip it using our Mus-Max 'Wood Terminator 8' industrial mobile wood chipper into covered stores.

The MWF Chip Tanker then delivers the fuel from our depots directly into our customers tanks.

For those who have their own source of timber, Midlands Wood Fuel can provide a wood chipping service, using chipping machines designed specifically to produce fuel grade chips.

WOOD PELLETS

Wood pellets - compressed sawdust - offer advantages particularly for the domestic user, because the have a higher density than chips, reducing the storage volume required.

Pellets are competitive with the price of heating oil and LPG.
